History-Free Feature-Based Modeling Technology Puts You in Sync
The big news in this issue of Velocity Series Insider is Siemens PLM Software’s new synchronous technology. It is the first history-free, feature-based modeling technology that enables up to 100-times faster design experience. Engineers and designers can spend more time creating and evolving their designs, instead of dealing with the particulars of the computer-aided design (CAD) system.
This is the first design solution that simultaneously synchronizes geometry and rules through a new decision-making interface engine that accelerates innovation in four key areas: fast idea capture, fast design changes, improved multi-CAD re-use, and new user experience.
Because this technology is designed to move CAD out of a designer specialty and into an enterprise capability, familiarity with CAD software or programming is not necessary. You no longer have to become an expert to get expert results.
Synchronous technology will be included in the next versions of Solid Edge and NX. Look for an announcement about Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology (instead of Solid Edge Version 21) in the May issue.
All Solid Edge users will be able to take advantage of synchronous technology, as it will be included as part of the next maintenance package.
You can check out synchronous technology at the UGS Connection Americas 2008 Users Conference, which will be held June 2 through 5 in Orlando, Florida. This three-day conference will also give you the opportunity to learn more about the product lines, take advantage of hands-on opportunities, network with other users, and discover new tools that can boost your productivity.
